On 22 November 2024, the Ministry of Coal executed Coal Block Production and Development Agreements for the Meenakshi, Rampia and Dip Side of Rampia coal blocks; the successful bidders include Hindalco Industries Limited and Jhar Mineral Resources Private Limited. Coal Secretary Vikram Dev Dutt and Additional Secretary and Nominated Authority Rupinder Brar handed over the agreements. The ministry said 104 coal blocks have been auctioned successfully since the launch of commercial coal mining. The 3 blocks are expected to generate about ₹2,709.95 crore a year at a peak rated capacity of about 27 MTPA. On the second day of the 10th round of commercial auctions, 2 more coal blocks were auctioned.
