Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for agriculture students on 10 August 2026, under which more than 6,000 agriculture students received ₹21.35 crore in scholarships through direct benefit transfer (NSP-DBT). Chouhan stressed timely examinations, admissions and payments, and practical training in agricultural education. He also urged agriculture students to plant saplings at ICAR institutions on Hariyali Amavasya.
