Union Home Minister Amit Shah approved, on 28 October 2025, the advance release of ₹20 crore to Nagaland as the second instalment of the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for 2025-26, to help the state provide relief after extremely heavy rainfall, flash floods and landslides during the south-west monsoon. In 2025-26, the Centre has released ₹15,554 crore to 27 states under SDRF and ₹2,267.44 crore to 15 states under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). During this monsoon, up to 199 NDRF teams were deployed in 30 states and UTs.
