CEA launches indigenous resource adequacy model 'STELLAR'
The Central Electricity Authority on 11 April 2025 launched STELLAR, an indigenously developed resource adequacy model that States and distribution companies can use free of cost for power planning.

Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Chairperson Ghanshyam Prasad launched STELLAR, a fully indigenously developed resource adequacy (RA) model, on 11 April 2025, the Ministry of Power said. The model will be available free of cost to all States and distribution companies (discoms) to prepare resource adequacy plans in line with the Ministry of Power's Resource Adequacy guidelines of June 2023. Discom RA plans have been updated up to 2034-35.
