On 3 November 2024, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan concluded his official visit to Algeria (31 October–3 November 2024). He and his counterpart, General of Army Said Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian People's National Army, signed a memorandum on defence cooperation between India and Algeria. The CDS complimented the military parade of 1 November 2024 marking the 70th anniversary of Algeria's Revolution, and said India has re-established its Defence Wing in Algeria and welcomes the re-opening of Algeria's Defence Wing in India.
