CCI procures 100 lakh bales of cotton under MSP in 2024-25; Telangana leads

The Cotton Corporation of India procured 100 lakh bales of cotton under MSP operations in the 2024-25 season up to 31 March 2025, with Telangana (40 lakh bales) leading, the Ministry of Textiles said on 8 April 2025.

According to the Ministry of Textiles, the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI), its nodal agency, procured 525 lakh quintals of seed cotton, equivalent to 100 lakh bales, under Minimum Support Price (MSP) operations in the 2024-25 cotton season up to 31 March 2025. This was 38% of total arrivals of 263 lakh bales and 34% of estimated production of 294.25 lakh bales. Telangana recorded the highest procurement (40 lakh bales), followed by Maharashtra (30 lakh) and Gujarat (14 lakh); others included Karnataka (5 lakh), Madhya Pradesh (4 lakh), Andhra Pradesh (4 lakh) and Odisha (2 lakh). ₹37,450 crore was paid to about 21 lakh farmers, with 508 procurement centres, Aadhaar-linked payments and tracking through the Cott-Ally mobile app.
