The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved two Railway projects in Odisha and Jharkhand worth about ₹3,907 crore on 15 July 2026: Paradeep–Haridaspur doubling and the Rajkharsawan–Dangoaposi 4th line. The two projects cover four districts, add about 145 km to the Indian Railways network and are to be completed by 2030-31. Planned under the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, the projects will improve connectivity for about 1,526 villages with about 14 lakh people and add 44 million tonnes per annum of freight such as coal, iron ore and dolomite.
