The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) announced on 12 December 2025 that it has constituted an Expert Committee for abatement of air pollution caused by vehicular emissions in Delhi-NCR. The CAQM committee is chaired by Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala of IIT Madras, with former AIIMS Delhi Director Dr Randeep Guleria as Co-Chairperson, and includes academics, health experts and automotive research bodies such as ARAI, Pune, and ICAT, Manesar. The committee is to recommend a multi-pronged roadmap for emission reduction in the vehicle sector.
