Cabinet approves Pune Metro Phase-2 corridors 2A and 2B

On 25 June 2025 in New Delhi, the Union Cabinet approved Pune Metro Rail Project Phase-2: Vanaz–Chandani Chowk (Corridor 2A) and Ramwadi–Wagholi/Vitthalwadi (Corridor 2B), Maharashtra.

The Union Cabinet approved Pune Metro Rail Project Phase-2 on 25 June 2025, comprising Vanaz to Chandani Chowk (Corridor 2A) and Ramwadi to Wagholi/Vitthalwadi (Corridor 2B). Both are extensions of the existing Vanaz–Ramwadi corridor of Phase-1. The two elevated corridors span 12.75 km with 13 stations and are to be completed within four years. The project costs ₹3,626.24 crore, shared equally by the Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra and external bilateral or multilateral agencies. The corridors will connect with Line-1 and Line-3 at the District Court Interchange Station.
