Cabinet approves Pune Metro Phase-2 Lines 4 and 4A worth ₹9,857.85 crore

The Union Cabinet on 26 November 2025 approved Line 4 (Kharadi–Hadapsar–Swargate–Khadakwasla) and Line 4A (Nal Stop–Warje–Manik Baug) under Phase-2 of the Pune Metro Rail Project in Maharashtra.

Summary

The two lines together span 31.636 km with 28 elevated stations and will cost ₹9,857.85 crore, to be completed in five years with joint funding from the Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra and external bilateral/multilateral agencies. They are the second major approval under Phase-2 after Line 2A (Vanaz–Chandani Chowk) and Line 2B (Ramwadi–Wagholi/Vitthalwadi), and will interchange at Kharadi Bypass, Nal Stop, Swargate and Hadapsar Railway Station.
