The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the telecom R&D centre of the Department of Telecommunications, signed an agreement with IIT Delhi, announced on 21 March 2025, to develop a 'Generative AI-Enhanced Chatbot for Customer Support in Disaster Early Warning and Emergency Communication'. The chatbot will offer real-time multilingual help to disaster managers, first responders and affected communities using natural language processing, text-to-speech, speech-to-text and image processing, and will integrate with 3GPP-compliant emergency communication protocols. It will run fully on-premise for data security.
