Holy relics of Lord Buddha from India arrive in Bhutan for exposition till 18 November

The Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha, enshrined at the National Museum, New Delhi, arrived in Bhutan on 8 November 2025 for a public exposition from 8 to 18 November, with an Indian delegation led by Union Minister Dr Virendra Kumar.

Summary

The Buddha relics were received at Paro International Airport by Bhutan's Home Minister Tshering, the Tshoki Lopen of the Central Monastic Body and other dignitaries; the Royal Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck also paid respects. They were then taken to the Grand Kuenrey Hall of Tashichho Dzong in Thimphu and enshrined with traditional rituals, as part of the Global Peace Prayer Festival.
