BSNL soft-launches indigenous SIM-less Quantum 5G FWA in Hyderabad

On 18 June 2025 in Hyderabad, Telangana, BSNL soft-launched Quantum 5G FWA, an indigenous SIM-less fixed-wireless-access service, at its Ameerpet Exchange.

Summary

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) announced the soft launch of BSNL Quantum 5G FWA in Hyderabad on 18 June 2025. The service was inaugurated at BSNL's Ameerpet Exchange by A. Robert J. Ravi, Chairman & Managing Director of BSNL/MTNL. The fixed-wireless-access solution is SIM-less, built on BSNL's Direct-to-Device platform, and uses a fully indigenous core, RAN and customer equipment. Ameerpet recorded 980 Mbps download and 140 Mbps upload speeds with sub-10 ms latency. BSNL said pilots in Bengaluru, Pondicherry, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Gwalior and Chandigarh will go live by September 2025.
