Project DANTAK of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated its 66th Raising Day at Thimphu, Bhutan on 24 April 2026, marking 65 years of service in the kingdom since its establishment in April 1961. The project built Bhutan's first motorable road and has constructed over 1,500 km of roads, including the East–West Highway connecting Trashigang to Thimphu, and was instrumental in building the Phuentsholing–Thimphu Highway, Paro International Airport and Yongphula Airport. Recent work includes double-laning of the Confluence–Haa road, whose Phase I was inaugurated on 1 August 2025, and of the nearly 168-km Samdrup Jongkhar–Trashigang highway.
