First batch of BrahMos missiles from Lucknow facility flagged off under UP Defence Industrial Corridor

On 18 October 2025 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath jointly flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured at the BrahMos Integration and Testing Facility Centre, a key part of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor. The 200-acre facility, built at a total cost of Rs 380 crore, was virtually inaugurated by the Raksha Mantri on 11 May 2025, and the first batch was ready within five months. About 100 missile systems are to be produced there every year. The Raksha Mantri said the BrahMos team had signed contracts worth about Rs 4,000 crore with two countries in the past month, and that the Lucknow unit's turnover would be around Rs 3,000 crore from the next financial year. DG (BrahMos) Dr Jaytirth R. Joshi handed the UP Chief Minister a GST bill and cheque of about Rs 40 crore.
