A joint team of state forces killed 31 Maoists, including 11 women, in an encounter inside Indravati National Park in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, on 9 February 2025. The gunfight began around 8 am and continued intermittently until about 4 pm. District Reserve Guard head constable Naresh Dhruv and Special Task Force constable Vasit Ravte were killed and two others injured. A large cache of weapons and explosives was recovered. Union Home Minister Amit Shah called it a major success towards a Naxal-free India.
