The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) under MeitY's Digital India Corporation and the Assam Innovation & Startup Foundation (AISF) of the Government of Assam announced on 22 June 2026 that they have signed an MoU to promote language technology, Generative AI and vernacular governance in Assam. Under the BHASHINI Rajyam initiative, the BHASHINI–AISF partnership will integrate BHASHINI translation APIs into AISF platforms, improve translation in Assamese and other local languages, and collect linguistic data through Bhashadaan.
