BHASHINI and CRIS sign MoU for multilingual AI on railway platforms
On 9 June 2025 in New Delhi, the Digital India Bhashini Division (BHASHINI) and the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) signed an MoU on multilingual AI solutions for Indian Railways.

The Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD) and the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New Delhi on 9 June 2025 to develop and deploy multilingual AI solutions on public-facing railway platforms. BHASHINI CEO Amitabh Nag and CRIS Managing Director G.V.L. Satya Kumar signed it. BHASHINI's speech recognition, translation, text-to-speech and OCR stack will be integrated into CRIS-managed systems such as the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) and RailMadad, letting citizens access railway services in 22 Indian languages; chatbots and voice assistants will also be co-developed.
