Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp in New Delhi on 19 May 2025 and released primers in Indian languages and special modules in thirteen languages. Inspired by NEP 2020, the camps will be held in schools across all States and UTs: over seven days (28 hours, based on an NCERT/SCERT capsule course), students and teachers will learn another Indian language from a different linguistic family through greetings, alphabets, songs, food and culture. The Minister commended NCERT for publishing primers in 117 languages, close to its target of 122, and stressed teaching in the mother tongue until Class 8 and age-appropriate, AI-embedded textbooks in Indian languages.
