Global 6G alliances issue 'New Delhi Declaration' calling 6G a global public good

On 11 October 2025, at the International Bharat6G Symposium 2025 in New Delhi, held alongside India Mobile Congress 2025, leading research alliances — Bharat 6G, 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA), ATIS' Next G Alliance, XGMF, 6G Forum, 6G Brazil, UKI-FNI, UK TIN, UK Federated Telecoms Hubs and 6G Flagship — issued a joint statement, the New Delhi Declaration. It commits to making 6G secure, open, resilient, inclusive and sustainable by design, and to developing it as a global public good through open, transparent and inclusive standardisation. It calls for trustworthy-by-design networks, open interfaces and multi-vendor interoperability, energy-efficient and recyclable systems, integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks (satellites and high-altitude platforms) for coverage across land, sea, air and space, and skills development.
