On 16 October 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation the Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, as part of projects worth about Rs 13,430 crore launched from Kurnool. Set up by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) at about Rs 360 crore, the facility will make electro-optical devices such as advanced night vision devices, infrared seekers for indigenous missiles and drone-related systems, for the armed forces and for export. The PM said it will boost India's capability in night vision equipment, missile sensors and drone guard systems. Its flexible production lines can take future products, and it will generate jobs over two to three years.
