BCAS and Rashtriya Raksha University to set up aviation security equipment testing centre
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and Rashtriya Raksha University signed an MoU in New Delhi on 6 April 2026 to set up India's indigenous testing centre for full body scanners and other airport security screening equipment.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New Delhi on 6 April 2026 to establish and run a dedicated indigenous testing centre for trials, performance evaluation and certification of full body scanners and other security screening equipment used at Indian airports. Under the MoU, RRU will set up and maintain the centre in collaboration with BCAS and independently evaluate and certify equipment supplied by original equipment manufacturers, following BCAS directives. The MoU also covers research, training and standards development. It was signed in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, BCAS Director General Rajesh Nirwan and RRU Vice Chancellor Bimal Patel. The minister noted that RRU was established in 2010.
