Batadrava Than, the birthplace of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev in Assam's Nagaon district, was inaugurated after redevelopment by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 29 December 2025. The project, built in three phases at a cost of more than ₹222 crore over 162 bighas of land, includes an 'Aavirbhav Kshetra' marking Sankardev's birth; its foundation stone had been laid on 26 December 2020. Srimanta Sankardev founded the Neo-Vaishnavite faith, the Eka Sarana Nama Dharma tradition, and propagated it across Assam and the Northeast.
