Ayushman Vay Vandana card enrolments cross 10 lakh within three weeks

On 16 November 2024, the Health Ministry said more than 10 lakh senior citizens aged 70 and above had enrolled for the Ayushman Vay Vandana card under AB PM-JAY within three weeks of its launch.

On 16 November 2024, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said more than 10 lakh senior citizens aged 70 and above had enrolled for the Ayushman Vay Vandana card, which gives free healthcare under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY). This came within three weeks of the card's rollout by PM Narendra Modi on 29 October 2024. Around 4 lakh of the enrolments are by women. Treatment worth over ₹9 crore has been authorised, benefiting more than 4,800 senior citizens, including over 1,400 women.
