Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) under NITI Aayog launched India's first State Innovation Mission (SIM) in Tripura at the Hapania International Exhibition Centre, Agartala, on 26 February 2026, with Chief Minister Manik Saha, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery and Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh present. SIM is part of the approved AIM 2.0 programme under NITI Aayog's State Support Mission, and is meant as a long-term mechanism to help States and UTs build their own innovation ecosystems. In Tripura it will be run through the Tripura Institution for Transformation (TIFT), with the T-NEST incubation facility, innovation centres in all 8 districts and a District Innovator Fellowship.
