Assam, Kerala and Puducherry held single-day polling for their Legislative Assemblies on 9 April 2026 across 296 Assembly constituencies (126 in Assam, 140 in Kerala and 30 in Puducherry) and 63,084 polling stations. The Election Commission of India ensured live webcasting from 100% of polling stations for the first time in these three, and capped electors at 1,200 per polling station. ECI's final statistical reports (Highlights, including postal ballots) put the state polling percentage at 86.33% in Assam, 79.53% in Kerala and 91.19% in Puducherry. Earlier, ECI had noted that the previous highest turnouts were 84.67% in Assam (2016) and 86.19% in Puducherry (2011). In all three, the polling percentage of women electors was higher than that of men. Assam had 2,51,17,886 electors and 722 candidates, Kerala 2,71,96,936 electors and 883 candidates, and Puducherry 9,50,639 electors and 294 candidates.
