The Indian Army's Central Command held its first-ever Strategic Communication Conclave in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on 7 March 2026, with close to 500 people attending. In his opening address, Central Command chief Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta said warfare now includes the information and cognitive domains, and that strategic communication must become institutionalised, doctrine-backed and capability-driven rather than reactive.
