National workshop in Udaipur finalises Detailed Action Plan for Aravalli Landscape Restoration

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav inaugurated a national workshop at Udaipur on 21 May 2025 to finalise a Detailed Action Plan for restoring the Aravalli landscape, India's oldest mountain range.

A national workshop on Restoration of the Aravalli Landscape and its Biodiversity was inaugurated by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav at Udaipur, Rajasthan on 21 May 2025, on the eve of the International Day for Biological Diversity. Organised by MoEFCC and the Rajasthan Forest Department, it focused on finalising a Detailed Action Plan for Aravalli Landscape Restoration before its launch across the range. The Minister said the Aravalli Green Wall Project will increase green cover and biodiversity through afforestation, reforestation and restoration of water bodies, and recalled that 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' was launched from Buddha Jayanti Park on the Delhi ridge, part of the Aravallis.
