APEDA holds organic conclave and buyer-seller meet in Guwahati

APEDA, with the Government of Assam, held an Organic Conclave-cum-Buyer Seller Meet in Guwahati to boost agri-exports from Assam, the Commerce Ministry said on 20 January 2026.

Summary

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) organised the event to strengthen export linkages and market access for Assam's agricultural and processed foods. Over 30 exporters, 9 importers and around 50 Farmer Producer Companies took part in business-to-business meetings. Export-potential produce highlighted included Assam Joha rice and other speciality non-basmati rice, banana, pineapple, mandarin orange, Assam lemon, organic ginger, turmeric and black pepper. A session explained the 8th edition of the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), including its regulations and labelling rules.
