First consignment of rose-scented litchi flagged off from Pathankot to Doha

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, with Punjab's Department of Horticulture, facilitated the flag-off of the first consignment of 1 metric tonne of rose-scented litchi from Pathankot, Punjab to Doha, Qatar on 23 June 2025. Another 0.5 metric tonne was exported from Pathankot to Dubai, UAE. Lulu Group and progressive farmer Prabhat Singh of Sujanpur, who supplied the produce, were partners. According to the National Horticulture Board, Punjab produced 71,490 tonnes of litchi in 2023â24, 12.39% of India's output.
