The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) launched BHARATI – Bharat's Hub for Agritech, Resilience, Advancement and Incubation for Export Enablement – on 2 September 2025, on the sidelines of a Food & Beverages Sector Stakeholders Meeting chaired by Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, alongside UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan. The initiative will empower 100 agri-food and agri-tech startups through a pilot cohort starting September 2025. It targets high-value categories such as GI-tagged products, organic foods, superfoods, livestock and AYUSH products, and technologies like AI-based quality control, blockchain traceability and IoT-enabled cold chains. It supports APEDA's vision of $50 billion in agri-food exports of its Scheduled Products by 2030.
