The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) announced on 5 May 2025 the selection of seven e-Nodes for support under its Mission for Advancement of High-impact Areas on Electric Vehicles (MAHA-EV). The call focused on three technological verticals: Tropical EV Battery and Battery Cells, Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD), and EV Charging Infrastructure. The selected e-Nodes are IIT Bombay, ARCI Hyderabad, NIT Surathkal, IIT Kanpur, IIT-BHU, CSIR-CEERI Pilani and IIT Kharagpur, chosen from 227 proposals. Each e-Node will work in consortia mode with academic institutions or R&D labs and mandatory industry participation; two will focus on batteries and cells, three on PEMD and two on charging infrastructure.
