ANRF launches PAIR programme to pair research-nascent universities with top institutions

On 14 November 2024, the Anusandhan National Research Foundation announced the Partnerships for Accelerated Innovation and Research (PAIR) programme, a hub-and-spoke mentorship model for universities.

Summary

On 14 November 2024, the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) announced the Partnerships for Accelerated Innovation and Research (PAIR) programme, aligned with NEP 2020, to build research capacity in universities, especially central and state public universities. Under a hub-and-spoke model, established institutions (hubs) will mentor emerging ones (spokes). In the first phase, hubs will be institutions in the top 25 of the NIRF overall ranking and Institutions of National Importance in the top 50; spokes will include central and state public universities and select NITs and IIITs. ANRF's operations began with its first Governing Board meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, on 10 September 2024.
