Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço was on his first State visit to India and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on 3 May 2025, the year the two countries mark 40 years of diplomatic relations. The Prime Minister said this was the first visit by an Angolan President to India in 38 years.
