Androth, the second of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) being built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), was delivered to the Indian Navy at GRSE, Kolkata on 13 September 2025. The ships are indigenously designed and built to the classification rules of the Indian Register of Shipping and strengthen the Navy's anti-submarine, coastal surveillance and mine-laying capabilities. The name comes from Androth Island in the Lakshadweep archipelago. At about 77 metres long, the ASW SWCs are the largest Indian Navy warships propelled by a diesel engine–waterjet combination and carry lightweight torpedoes, indigenous ASW rockets and shallow-water sonar. Androth has over 80% indigenous content.
