Renovated Andheri RS Post Office in Mumbai inaugurated as a future-ready hub under Jan Sewa Connect
On 8 May 2026 Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the renovated Andheri Railway Station Post Office in Mumbai under the Department of Posts' Jan Sewa Connect, the first in Maharashtra and second in India under the initiative.

The Andheri Railway Station Post Office in Mumbai, first set up in 1932-33, was inaugurated on 8 May 2026 as a future-ready post office under the Department of Posts' Jan Sewa Connect initiative by Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The renovation was done in partnership with the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. The post office is one of the sites under a Proof of Concept being implemented across 40 post offices in 17 states, and is the first in Maharashtra and the second in India to be inaugurated under the initiative. India Post has more than 1.65 lakh post offices and recorded 16% growth in Gross Postal Revenue in 2025-26.
