AMRIT Pharmacy turns 10; HLL to double outlets to 500
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda inaugurated the 10th anniversary celebrations of AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) Pharmacy at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 15 November 2025.

AMRIT pharmacies, started in 2015 and run by HLL Lifecare Ltd, sell life-saving and essential medicines and implants at discounts of 50% to 90%. Over 255 outlets have served more than 6.85 crore patients, dispensing medicines worth over ₹17,000 crore at MRP and saving patients nearly ₹8,400 crore. J.P. Nadda said every medical college and district hospital should have an AMRIT pharmacy, and HLL pledged to double the number of outlets to 500.
