The Ministry of Home Affairs said on 19 October 2025 that Union Home Minister Amit Shah approved advance release of ₹1,950.80 crore as the second instalment of the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for 2025-26 to Karnataka and Maharashtra: ₹384.40 crore for Karnataka and ₹1,566.40 crore for Maharashtra. In 2025-26 the Centre has so far released ₹13,603.20 crore to 27 states under SDRF and ₹2,189.28 crore to 15 states under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF), plus ₹4,571.30 crore to 21 states from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund and ₹372.09 crore to 9 states from the National Disaster Mitigation Fund. During this monsoon, up to 199 NDRF teams were deployed in 30 states and UTs.
