Union Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah reviewed the progress of National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL), National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) and Bharatiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Limited (BBSSL), formed in 2023, at a meeting in New Delhi on 3 May 2025. He set a target of ₹2 lakh crore in exports for NCEL and asked it to explore three new products not currently exported from India. He set NCOL a turnover target of more than ₹300 crore in FY 2025-26; NCOL has enrolled more than 7,000 cooperatives. A BBSSL centre at Kalol, Gujarat will develop high-yielding, short-duration, low-water varieties of crops such as pigeon pea, black gram and maize.
