On 22 February 2025 in Pune, Union Home Minister Amit Shah distributed sanction letters to 20 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (Phase-2) in Maharashtra, and the first instalment was released to 10 lakh beneficiaries during the event, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Shah said it was the first time 20 lakh homes had been allotted simultaneously, that Maharashtra had received the highest number of houses under Phase-2, and that beneficiaries would also get toilets, solar panels and soon gas cylinders. Maharashtra's allotment had risen from 13.50 lakh to 19.50 lakh houses.
