He said NAFSCOB was established in 1964 by Dr Dhananjayrao Gadgil and Maganbhai Patel. He said the government aims to open district cooperative banks in 80% of districts in the next five years, and that long-term finance through PACS would soon be introduced. He noted deposits of ₹4,33,000 crore in District Cooperative Banks and ₹2,42,000 crore in State Cooperative Banks. MoS for Cooperation Krishan Pal and Muralidhar Mohol were present.
