On 3 October 2025 at Rohtak, Haryana, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Sabar Dairy plant with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Built at about ₹350 crore, it will produce 150 tonnes of curd, 10 tonnes of yogurt, 3 lakh litres of buttermilk and 10,000 kg of sweets a day. Shah said it is the country's largest plant of its kind and will meet Delhi-NCR's demand for dairy products from Haryana. He said Sabar Dairy already serves farmers in Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. He also said India's milk processing capacity is now 66 million litres a day, with a target of 100 million litres a day by 2028–29, and that by 2029 every panchayat will have a cooperative society.
