On 19 November 2024 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the 50th All India Police Science Conference as chief guest, in the presence of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and the Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), Rajiv Kumar Sharma. He said law enforcement must stay ahead of criminals in five areas: cybercrime, infiltration, illegal drone use, narcotics and misuse of the dark web. He said nearly 100% of police stations had been computerised and connected to CCTNS for the new criminal laws.
