The foundation ceremony of Amaravati Quantum Valley was held in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, on 8 February 2026, with Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, State IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Principal Scientific Adviser Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood. The foundation stone of the Amaravati Quantum Centre was laid and the Valley's logo launched. IBM and TCS launched quantum cloud services and set up an IBM–TCS Quantum Innovation Centre; a Quantum Talent Hub, a Quantum Reference Facility by SRM University and a quantum-safe applications initiative were announced, and MoUs were exchanged with nine industry partners. Dr Singh said the National Quantum Mission (about ₹6,000 crore) spans 43 institutions in 17 States and 2 Union Territories through four thematic hubs — computing, communication, sensing and metrology, and materials and devices — and aims at quantum computers of up to 1,000 physical qubits within eight years and inter-city Quantum Key Distribution over 2,000 km. The Union Cabinet approved the Mission on 19 April 2023 for 2023–24 to 2030–31.
