DoT's TTDF funds Amantya Technologies to build a 'Made in India' carrier-grade 5G Standalone core

The Department of Telecommunications announced on 24 December 2024 that Amantya Technologies has been awarded funding under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme of the Universal Service Obligation Fund, now called Digital Bharat Nidhi. The project will develop an 'India 5G Stack' with a 3GPP Release 16/17-compliant 'Made in India 5G SA Core' for public carrier and enterprise deployment, upgrading Amantya's enterprise-grade core to carrier grade. The core will support network slicing, QoS, VoNR, URLLC and mMTC, integrate with existing 4G/5G networks and be cloud-agnostic, running on platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenStack and OpenShift. The agreement was signed in New Delhi in the presence of C-DOT CEO Dr Rajkumar Upadhyay, who will oversee the project.
