He is a 1999-batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre and earlier served as Deputy Election Commissioner at the Election Commission of India and as Joint Secretary to former President Ram Nath Kovind. GeM, India's largest e-marketplace for government procurement, had recorded a Gross Merchandise Value of ₹4.58 lakh crore, up 28.65% year on year, and is moving to a next-generation platform built by Tata Consultancy Services.
