Ahmedabad gets ₹400 crore micro-tunnelled sewer line; 205 Nava Vanjar families get land certificates

Ahmedabad's Western Trunk Line sewerage system, serving about 15 lakh people in around 4,500 colonies across nine wards, was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 28 December 2025 at a cost of about ₹400 crore funded through AMRUT, state schemes and the municipal corporation. Shah said the pipes were laid entirely underground with micro-tunnelling technology, which he described as its first use in Asia, so traffic was not disrupted.
