The Aadhaar App crossed 5 crore (50 million) downloads, the Ministry of Electronics and IT said on 20 August 2026. The app lets Aadhaar holders update their mobile number, address and email, lock or unlock biometrics and download e-Aadhaar from their phones. More than 60 lakh people have updated their mobile number, over 15 lakh their address and more than 23 lakh their email through the app. About 200 entities have also come on board as Offline Verification Seeking Entities (OVSEs).
