The Informal Group of Ministers (IGoM) on West Asia held its 5th meeting under Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh at Kartavya Bhawan-2, New Delhi on 11 May 2026 and was told there is no shortage of any petroleum product. India has 60 days of crude oil, 60 days of natural gas and 45 days of LPG rolling stock, and foreign exchange reserves of $703 billion; oil marketing companies have absorbed losses of close to ₹1,000 crore a day to keep retail prices steady. Fertiliser stocks stood at 199.65 lakh tonnes, over 51% of the Kharif 2026 requirement of 390.54 lakh tonnes assessed by the Agriculture Department, with no hike in MRP for farmers. Fertiliser companies have also floated global tenders for 12 LMT of DAP, 4 LMT of TSP and 3 LMT of ammonium sulphate.
