Three coal blocks in Jharkhand and Odisha auctioned in 13th round of commercial auctions
The Ministry of Coal announced on 26 November 2025 that three fully explored coal blocks were auctioned in the 13th round of commercial coal mine auctions, all won by Damodar Valley Corporation.

The 13th round was launched on 21 August 2025 and forward auctions were held from 20 to 25 November 2025. The blocks — Pirpainti Barahat (Jharkhand, 25 MTPA), Dhulia North (Jharkhand, 14 MTPA) and Mandakini-B (Odisha, 10 MTPA) — are non-coking, with combined geological reserves of about 3,306.58 million tonnes and peak rated capacity of 49 MTPA. They are expected to generate about ₹4,620.69 crore a year in revenue and attract about ₹7,350 crore in investment.
